VAX 4000 Model 200

The VAX 4000 Model 200 cabinet enclosure houses two BA23 chassis that include two eight-slot backplanes for a total offering of 14 backplane slots (two slots are reserved for cable management), two 230-watt power supplies, two control panels, one large I/O distribution panel, four fans, and space for four 5.25-inch storage devices and two 13-inch storage devices. Use the following rules when configuring the cabinet enclosure: The KA630 CPU for VAX 4000 Model 200 is installed in slot 1 of the upper BA23 frame. The M9505.YB interconnect module is installed in the AB row of slot 1 of the lower BA23 frame. MS630-BA, MS630-BB, and MS630-CA and VAX 4000 Model 200 memory modules are installed in slots 2 and 3 of the upper BA23 frame. Note: If slots 2 and 3 of the upper BA23 frame are not used for MS630 memory modules, it is recommended that they be reserved for future memory expansion by installing M9047 grant continuity cards in the AB rows. The M9404 and VAX 4000 Model 200 interconnect module is installed in the last slot of the upper BA23 frame which has the grant signal. If other dual-height modules are installed in slots 2 or 3 of either BA23 frame, they must be placed in the AB rows. No grant continuity card is necessary in the CD rows of slot rows 1, 2, or 3 in either BA23 frame. If a VAX 4000 Model 200 disk controller is present, it raust be installed in the upper BA23 frame.
