The MicroVAX 3100 Model 10-20 Console System provides a single, central point of control for all clusterwide console functions, including issuing console commands and examin- ing operating messages. It provides VAXcluster system managers and operators with a chronological record of events across the VMicroVAX 3100 Model 10-20 system. The VAXclus- ter Console System eliminates the need for the multiple hardcopy terminals that typically function as console devices for each MicroVAX 3100 Model 10-20 system node. The VAX- cluster Console System connects to the console ports of each VAXcluster node with a fiber optic link, comprised of two fiber optic converters, power supplies, and connecting cable. In addition to this packaged configuration, any MicroVAX II can be upgraded to function as a MicroVAX 3100 Model 10-20 Console System. The menu below lists the major components of the VAXcluster Console System. Steps 1-3 are required for all systems. Step 4 is required only for 240 V systems.
