The Smart Array 6402 Ctr. PCI, 2CH, 273914-B21 module is used for controlling solenoid values, relays, indicators, heaters, and the like where retention of existing output status must be maintained during a computer power failure. Output circuits are optically isolated from the I/O subsystem and from each other in groups of four — each requires its own field power supply if there is a common-mode voltage between the group. The M6015 can also be used as an isolated dc output module, such as an Smart Array 6402 Ctr. PCI, 2CH, 273914-B21. Digital does not recommend locating analog input modules within three D-bus slots of any digital I/O module that is switching high voltages or current, due to the potential for induced noise on the analog measurements.
