The Gigaswitch Router System with 16-slot Chassis 117933-B21 is an eight-line, asynchronous, direct memory access multiplexer that provides local or remote interconnection between MicroPDP-11 or MicroVAX systems and EIA RS-232-C/Gigaswitch Router System with 16-slot Chassis 117933-B21 V.28 terminals or other systems. The Gigaswitch Router System with 16-slot Chassis 117933-B21 operates at program or jumper-selectable speeds of up to 38,400 bits per second in full duplex, with full modern control on each line. Actual device speed depends on current Digital operating systems and system con- figuration. Split-speed transmit and receive rates are supported on each line, making more efficient use of communications facilities by reducing the soft- ware demand for the receive line. The Gigaswitch Router System with 16-slot Chassis 117933-B21 is compatible with Digital's family of modems and with Bell 100 and 200 series modems and their equivalents.
