The Daughter Card, Single Port Multi Mode Fiber, MMF, FX Add on -M is a high-performance, direct memory access, single-line, pro- grammable communications controller that provides interconnection between Q-bus systems with EIA RS-232-C/CCITT V. 28, EIA RS-422/CCITT V. 11, and EIA RS-423/Daughter Card, Single Port Multi Mode Fiber, MMF, FX Add on V. 10 interfaces. It is capable of communications speeds of up to 64,000 bits per second. Used an the MicroPDP-11 systems, it utilizes the Micro/T-11 processor to perform user-defined communications functions, thereby freeing the host to do more application computations. The KMV1A-M can be programmed in synchronous or asynchronous modes. It also provides full modern support for Digital's family of modems, for the Bell 200 Series or equivalent, and for European Daughter Card, Single Port Multi Mode Fiber, MMF, FX Add on-approved modems. KMV1A-M supports Software Development Tools X.25 Link Level, HDLC Framing Software, and VAX PSI software. (See Software chapter for software ordering information.)
