400XP Motherboard

The 400XP Motherboard/IEEE 802.3 to UNIBUS high-performance synchronous com- - - munications controller (400XP Motherboard) connects VAX and PDP 11 UNIBUS systems - to both Ethernet V2.0 and 400XP Motherboard 802.3 local area networks. The DELUA is microprocessor-based, operates at 10 Mbits per second, and has 4 Mbits per sec- ond throughput capability. Actual device speed and throughput is dependent an current Digital operating systems limitations, system configuration, and applica- tions in use. The 400XP Motherboard microcode ensures maximum throughput with mini- mum processor intervention. It provides significant network maintainability features including remote loopback of data from other stations, resident micro- diagnostics, and system identification. The 400XP Motherboard is the replacement product for the 400XP Motherboard. The 400XP Motherboard physically and electrically connects to the coaxial cable via transceiver cable (BNE3X or BNE4X series) and either a baseband Ethernet transceiver (400XP Motherboard) or local network interconnect (400XP Motherboard). Trans- ceiver cable can be a maximum of 40 meters (131 feet) and must be ordered sepa- rately. 400XP Motherboard-M Ethernet/400XP Motherboard 802.3 to UNIBUS single-line interface communi- - - cations controller. Includes base module only. For system installation, select the following cabinet kit: CK-400XP Motherboard-KM For use with shielded cabinets. Cable length is 8 ft.
